This API/FTP integration is supported for existing integrations only. New partners must use the POS Gateway.

This page explains the changes that have happened to our Inventory Sales Submission via FTP/API since October 2014.

These Release Notes are up-to-date at the time of the release. Further improvements or corrections to our integration documentation will normally occur in the guide only.

Breaking change notification

20th August 2023

As part of its ongoing commitment to the security of its customer’s information, Fourth will be updating its platform to require all connections to use TLS 1.2 or higher from 9 January 2024. Older versions of TLS will be retired.

TLS is the encryption method used to secure communications over HTTPS. This will have no impact on SFTP connections.

6 Sep 2018 — New CategoryCode element

A new element, CategoryCode, was added. This is now documented in the guide in the sales transaction table and the example submission.

19 Nov 2015 — Updated the mandatory, optional and conditional nature of elements for sales submission

Updated the mandatory, optional and conditional nature of elements for sales submission. Note that the behaviour has not changed for existing integrations.

5 May 2016 — Documentation updated to remove inconsistent information

Documentation update only: Resolved inconsistencies between documentation and XSD for sales submission, and added an example submission. There is no change to the behaviour of the API.

10 Feb 2016 — Support for HTTPS added

To support secure connections, the web service URL now uses HTTPS.

31 Oct 2014 — Documentation for this API consolidated with the Inventory Menu Item Configuration integration

Both this integration and the Inventory Menu Item Configuration integration are now documented in the same guide.
