What is it?

Fourth Arrow

The Menu Cycles API enables you to get the menu cycles in Fourth that have been published to individual locations. The API provides selective endpoints that allow you to get:

  • Buffet and a la carte menus that are part of the cycle
  • Standalone recipes that are part of the cycle
  • Meal periods for the cycle
  • For each recipe, the applicable tariffs, cost price, scheduled date, and status.

This is an HTTP REST API, which makes integration easy. We can additionally enable a webhook for your integration to provide menu cycle updates as they are published.

Why use it?

As menu items change daily within a menu cycle, any POS or similar systems that require menu and recipe data are faced with displaying all the possible options during a cycle, or having users do extensive and regular re-keying of information into their systems. Both of these options provide opportunities for errors to creep into the process, causing problems and confusion for both users at a till, and our customer in Inventory and Analytics.

The Menu Cycles API efficiently solves these problems. POS and similar systems can poll daily for updates from Fourth with the latest published menu cycle data, or alternatively receive updates via a webhook. The API provides succinct information tailored to third-party apps, allowing you to structure the menu cycles data onscreen as desired by the customer, and display only the information relevant to users for each day as it progresses.
