What is it?
With the Budget API, third-partner systems can send budget records into Adaco to populate and update the Adaco Budget and BudgetDetails tables.
The Budget table holds the name of available budgets and which properties the budget is available in, while the BudgetDetails table holds the details for each budget, such as the fiscal year and budget amount. Each field in the table maps to an element in the API request.
While the API can create and amend budgets across multiple properties, outlets and divisions, the API provides a simple data hierarchy for easy integration. This is a SOAP API with XML body and Web Service Definition Language (WSDL) file available.
Why use it?
This API enables third-party systems, such as accounting software, to serve as the primary source for budgeting records. This mitigates the risk of double-entry issues and ensures that Adaco users have to hand the most up-to-date budget information. With the ability to manage budgets within Fourth at both the outlet and division level, the API provides the level of granularity necessary required by hospitality businesses. Combined, these features allow the business to confidently avoid the complexity of managing and updating budgets between separate systems.
